"This space may be laid back and seem simple at first sight, yet in reality its overall look is finely constructed; the more time you spend in this venue, the more you comprehend how diligently eclectic it really is.

This is achieved by ensuring that all the elements of the restaurant design work together to create an atmosphere that, to an extent, veil its constructiveness through the introduction of organic textures and materials." Yatzer posts a glowing review of Dabbous.

Harper’s Bazaar

'Sunk into a former reservoir that last saw service in the 1970s, is an extraordinary piece of new domestic architecture – as beautiful as it is dramatic – that is now the second home of British artist Dinos Chapman and his wife Tiphaine de Lussy. Even by Chapman it’s an extreme work of art.’ Journalist Caroline Roux writes a glowing 6-page feature on the Kent Reservoir.

Autumn 2010

Architecture Today

‘One might venture that the assumed affinity between form and function is implicitly denied by the very act of adaption, but that seems too blunt an assertion; perhaps it is that all such work must assume a mannerism, where meanings are sometimes diverted, inverted, subverted to make a new poetry of the existing. Such is the achievement of the house, reached with intent, subtlety and control.’ 6 page review written by Professor Fred Scott.

Summer 2009

Powershop 2

Journalist Amy Tipper-Hale interviewed Dinos Chapman about working with Kevin Brennan on his two residences. Chapman had this to say: "It’s like working with my brother making art – you kick each other along a bit. One person has an idea then the other person goes away and thinks about it, develops the idea and that way it becomes more extreme. With Kevin it’s been really interesting as it’s all been happening on paper."

Alannah Weston, Selfridges’ Creative Director Said, “What I like about working with Brinkworth is their ability to translate an adventurous creative brief into a functioning retail space. A huge acoustic wall, 4.5m wide and almost the full ceiling height, doubles as a presentation wall, with work hung from hooks on its grid.

The Independent Magazine

Journalist Liz Farrelly in conversation with Kevin Brennan and Dinos Chapman about the artist East London home designed by Brinkworth.
“What I like is that the house is a series of planes, horizontal and vertical, made in different materials and stripped down to basics. After the lights go out I have to do a tour and look at all the luminous stuff. Then I go down to the big room to look up at the house because it’s just a fantastic place to play with lights” Dinos Chapman
