In partnership with the Wilson Brothers, we have designed the concept for ‘Oktyabr’, a project developed by Gosha Rubchinskiy and the Rassvet team. Introduced by Kixbox owner Philip Dukhovny, the designers first met with Gosha to discuss the brief. This was not to be a lifestyle store. It had to be a skate store – a place for the skaters of Moscow and beyond to gather, shop and socialise.

Oktyabr is located in the very heart of Arbat. This neighbourhood has a special significance for the history of the Russian skate scene with its skateable landmarks, including the famous Kaluzhskaia Square. The designers looked to the district's iconic landmarks to create a locally relevant material palette that sits confidently against the character of the existing building.
