Samsung KX is a new digital playground bringing the brand’s latest technologies to life. We were asked to design a unique concept for their space at the iconic Coal Drops Yard in London that didn’t feel like traditional retail. A showcase, not a shop.

With a brief to create a ‘Pioneer’s Sanctuary’, we designed two contrasting halves to the store. The Playground presents a domestic setting where people discover the latest technology, displayed among bespoke furniture. An eclectic selection of chairs, lamps, and rugs evoking contemporary British art and design provide an intriguing backdrop for the cutting-edge devices.

The second half is The Foundry, a cafe, events and workshop space where moveable sections can adapt for installations, talks and gaming. If the Playground is about recreating domestic intimacy, The Foundry is the place for collaboration, community and engagement.
