Fisher and Paykel

Blending heritage with innovation

Blending heritage with innovation

We embarked on a collaborative journey with Fisher & Paykel to design their first London Experience Centre on historic Wigmore Street. The close relationship between our London-based design team and Fisher & Paykel's Auckland-based designers sparked a visionary space that celebrates the site's rich past and the brand’s innate connection with nature’s textures and hues.

We took the brand's commitment to place and context in their design outcomes to gain a deeper understanding of the site's 16th-century origins. Drawing on its journey from rural to urban and its proximity to expansive parks and the city’s hidden waterways, we chose earthy local materials such as Portland Stone and naturally fallen elm to bring the store to life.

Guiding our design from the start was the idea of sparking visitor curiosity and a sense of wonder, playing with light and shadow, and rough and smooth textures to craft spaces that draw people from outside in, up and down. Fisher & Paykel’s dedication to community and customer experience can be seen in thoughtful touches, such as the welcoming tea ceremony flowing down to the Social Kitchen which offers immersive brand experiences and curated events.
